Yes. The scan is processed on hardware we own, never a third-party cloud OCR API, and you get a page-by-page confidence report back with the text — not just a flat text dump.
Why the usual option doesn't fit
Free and consumer OCR tools (Google Lens, cloud OCR APIs under the hood of most "OCR online" sites) require the scan to leave your network to get read. For medical records, filings, or anything privileged, that's a nonstarter before you've even checked what's on the page.
What actually happens to the file
Your scan is encrypted in your browser before it's sent, processed on hardware we own in an isolated workspace, and returned as searchable text alongside a confidence report — what the system was and wasn't sure it read correctly, not silence where errors happened.
Where this breaks down — said plainly
- Handwriting and degraded scans still error more than typed text. That's true of any OCR system, and it's disclosed in the report rather than hidden behind a clean-looking transcript.
- It reads what's on the page. It doesn't correct factual errors in the source document — that's not what OCR does.
